State Road 545 Lane Restriction Near Dubois For Bridge Work

Last updated on Monday, April 3, 2017

(DUBOIS) - The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced upcoming lane restrictions for State Road 545 near Dubois for a bridge project.

Beginning on or around April 10th, contractors will begin restricting the southbound lane of S.R. 545 to begin working on a deck overlay project on the bridge spanning Leistner Creek, about 1.3 miles south of S.R. 56. The overlay is a preventative maintenance measure that will increase the lifespan of the bridge deck for several years and protect the structural integrity of the bridge as a whole.

Loads over 11 feet wide will need to find an alternate route. Depending upon weather conditions, work is expected to take until mid-October. Restrictions will be in place around the clock controlled by temporary traffic signals. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
