(SEYMOUR) - A Seymour man was arrested after police were called to investigate a dog being shot at least 27 times by someone with a pellet gun and during a search they found meth in the man’s home.
Seymour Police arrested 44-year-old Tim Woodard on Wednesday at his home on Vehslage Road on charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
He has not been charged in connection with the shooting of Jackson, an English Mastiff.
According to Detective C.J. Foster, Woodard's home is next to the home where Jackson was shot while he was tied up in the fenced-in backyard.
The dog, which is less than a year old, continues to recover at the home that he shares with his owners, Hayden Howard, and her 2-year-old son.
Woodard's arrest came as police, investigating the shooting of the dog, obtained a search warrant for his home late Tuesday night and searched the home early Wednesday morning. Police found meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Several other people living at the home were not arrested, Foster added.
