(EDINBBURG) - The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) is hosting a training from April 21-23 that will include search and rescue personnel and K-9s from seven different states.
More than 35 search and rescue personnel and their K-9s from Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Illinois and Ohio will be attending the training at Camp Atterbury, in Edinburgh, Indiana.
The weekend training will feature courses of varying difficulty, ranging from beginner to advanced. The courses include basic search and rescue skills, area search, trailing, human remains detection on land and human remains detection and live body search during a disaster.
Brad Dennis, Director of the KlaasKids Foundation Search Center for Missing and Trafficked Children, will also be presenting Friday evening on how the KlaasKids Foundation gathers resources when searching for missing children and what search techniques they use to locate children faster.
