Free HIV Testing At Seymour, North Vernon Walgreens

Last updated on Tuesday, April 25, 2017

(UNDATED) - Walk-in appointments for free, confidential and rapid human immunodeficiency virus testing are available Thursday at Walgreens in Seymour and North Vernon.

With a simple gum swab and a 20-minute wait, people can know their HIV status with this 99 percent accurate test. No needles or blood drawing is required.

The Hepatitis C test does require a blood draw for testing purposes. A trained professional will clean the skin area before using a new, clean syringe to collect the blood sample, and the Positive Link staff will call with the results within two weeks of the test.

Testing at the North Vernon Walgreens store at 9 N. State St. will be from 1 to 3 p.m., while testing at the Seymour store at 319 E. Tipton St. will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

This program is funded in part by the Indiana State Department of Health HIV/STD Division and made available by IU Health Positive Link, a program of Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital Community Health.

Positive Link is a provider of prevention and holistic social services for those impacted by HIV in south central Indiana.
