Enjoy Time On Water, Stay Safe

Last updated on Friday, April 28, 2017

(UNDATED) - May marks the beginning of boating season. Wearing a life jacket, not just having it in the boat, has proved to be a nearly sure-fire way to prevent drowning from a boating accident.

The Department of Natural Resources wants to make sure you and your loved ones not only have their life jacket but also - Wear It while on the water.

Remember Your Lake Permit

All privately owned, motorized and non-motorized boats moored or operating on State Park lakes, State Forest lakes or state-managed lakes in Indiana must have a Lake Permit displayed on the boat. You can buy and pick up your permit at any state park or lake office, at the DNR Customer Service Center in Indianapolis or buy online and have it mailed to you.
