Blake Albrecht Named Vincennes University's Sports Information Director

Last updated on Thursday, April 13, 2017

(VINCENNES) - Washington native Blake Albrecht has been named Vincennes University’s Sports Information Director.

"Blake has the qualities that will make him an excellent sports information director. He has experience as a student athlete, a passion for athletics, and a dedication to telling stories about the drive and determination of individuals and teams at VU," said VU Athletic Director Harry Meeks.

A 2011 graduate of Washington High School, Albrecht earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education and history at Franklin College. While at Franklin, Albrecht was a four-year varsity letter recipient in cross country and track, and he holds several All-Conference, All-Region, and Franklin College accolades.

"I am excited about this opportunity at VU. I was a collegiate athlete myself, so the opportunity to spread the word about the success of our student athletes and the success of our athletic teams is a challenge that I will enjoy. I want to work closely with the coaches, so that their athletes get the best experience they can possibly have here, and with
local media outlets, so people appreciate the positive experience of being an athlete at Vincennes University," Albrecht said.

Albrecht says that some of his goals are to enhance the student experience, get the campus more engaged with athletics, increase attendance at athletic events, and to help boost enrollment at VU.
