Terre Haute Man Accused Of Spreading HIV Sentenced To Prison

Last updated on Thursday, March 16, 2017

(VIGO CO.) - A Vigo County Judge sentenced a Terre Haute man Tuesday to 20-years in prison and 10 years probation for intentionally spreading HIV.

The Terre Haute Tribune-Star reports 32-year-old Isiah Benford was charged in 2015.

Police say they interviewed 11 females who reported they had sex with Benford.

Court records said he either never discussed his HIV status with those sex partners or "taunted them with it and then claimed it was a 'joke.'"

Court documents showed three of the women have been diagnosed with HIV.
