Last updated on Wednesday, March 29, 2017

(DUBOIS CO.) - A two-month long investigation into drug trafficking ended Monday with the arrest of a second suspect in Dubois.

On January 21, Indiana State Master Trooper Brian LaRoche was working drug interdiction at a local shipping company with his K9 partner, Blackie. After Blackie alerted on a suspicious package, LaRoche obtained a search warrant through the Dubois County Superior Court. A search of the package resulted in LaRoche finding nearly four pounds of marijuana.

With the assistance of the Dubois County Sheriff's Department, troopers conducted a controlled delivery of the drugs in Jasper on January 21st. Troopers arrested 23-year-old Lucas Kinder of Jasper for dealing and possessing marijuana.

LaRoche continued the investigation into additional leads and suspects. Enough probable cause was presented to the Dubois County Superior Court for an arrest warrant to be issued for 23-year-old Austin Royer of Dubois. LaRoche served the warrant Monday, placing Royer into custody without incident on a charge of dealing marijuana.
