(VIGO CO.) - Troopers from the Indiana State Police Putnamville District will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint sometime this coming weekend during the late evening hours in Vigo County.

The checkpoint is in conjunction with Operation Pull Over Blitz 89, which runs from March 3rd through March 26th.

Drivers that encounter a check point will be required to produce a valid license and registration. Motorists that are not impaired can expect only short delays of 2-3 minutes while passing through the checkpoint.

Remember to drive sober or use a designated driver and buckle-up.

Should you encounter a person suspected of driving impaired or fatigued, dial 911.
The Indiana State Police are committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
