Newburgh Man Arrested For Dealing Marijuana

(VANDERBURGH CO.) - A Newburgh man was arrested after Indiana State police find 146 grams of marijuana in his vehicle.

On Tuesday at approximately 7:05 p.m., ISP Trooper Ross Rafferty was patrolling Lynch Road near I-69 when he observed a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound at a high rate of speed.

Trooper Rafferty activated his radar and clocked the vehicle at 88 miles per hour. The vehicle was stopped on Green River Road south of Lynch Road.

When Trooper Rafferty approached the driver he detected an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle. Inside the vehicle they found 146 grams of marijuana, digital scales and more than $1,000 in cash.

The driver, 19-year-old Mason Hart of Newburgh, was arrested on a felony charge of dealing marijuana and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
