National Players To Perform Two Plays At Vincennes University

(VINCENNES) - The National Players theatre company will bring two theatre classics to Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center on March 20 and 21.

William Shakespeare's familiar classic, "Hamlet," will be presented March 20 at 7 p.m. (EST). Two presentations of an adaptation of John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath" will be offered on March 21, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The theatre company will also conduct a 45-minute acting workshop Monday at 4 p.m. at the Skelton Center. Interested students and community members are invited to attend, free of charge.

Tickets for the productions are $2 and can be purchased online at www.vinu.edu/redskelton, by phone at 812-888-4039, or in person. Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; 12 noon to 5 p.m. Sundays; and one hour before performances.

VU employees receive two free tickets with their VU ID and VU students receive one free ticket with ID.

High school student groups are extended a special invitation to attend the 11 a.m. performance of "The Grapes of Wrath" on March 21. Reservations are not necessary but are recommended. Contact Juenell Owens at jowens@vinu.edu.
