(VIGO CO.) - Indiana State Police have arrested a suspect in the apparent unprovoked attack of a man on February 22, at Terre Haute's Warren Village located at 1300 North 25th Street.

Troopers arrested 32-year-old Charles Dishon of Terre Haute on three felony charges of battery, criminal confinement, residential entry and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.

He was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Methodist Hospital.

ISP detectives were able to determine through both interviews and evidence that on February 22, Dishon allegedly first attacked without provocation, 60-year-old Steven Hall of Terre Haute, as Hall was visiting his father on the third floor of Warren Village Housing.

After the initial encounter in the third floor hallway, Hall made his way to his father's apartment, where moments later, Dishon allegedly forced his way into the apartment, failed to leave when asked, then again physically attacked Steven Hall.

Hall then produced a .380 caliber handgun and discharged a round into Charles Dishon striking him in the facial area. The two men did not know each other prior to this incident.

Charles Dishon was initially taken to Terre Haute Union Hospital and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital where he has been undergoing treatment since the shooting.

The lead investigator was ISP Detective Michael Featherling. Assisting were other ISP Putnamville Detectives, ISP Crime Scene Investigators, Vigo County Prosecutor's Office, Terre Haute Police Department and the Terre Haute Fire Department.
