(UNDATED) - Just days before the opening tip-off, the American Gaming Association estimated that $10.4 billion will be wagered on the outcome of the national college basketball “March Madness” tournament.
Edward Zuckerman, of Talk Media News reports, this year's bet is 13 percet more than last year's $9.2 billion wager, AGA said.
Much of the betting is based on predicting the winners as they move through the tournament brackets. AGA reports 40 million people will fill out 70 million brackets.
