Last updated on Friday, March 3, 2017

(UNDATED) - An analysis of Bureau of Justice Statistics violent and property crime data collected in 2015 led Pew Research Center researchers to estimate that only about 50 percent of violent crimes and about 33 percent of property crimes are reported to police, and that most of the reported crimes do not result in an arrest and conviction.
