(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Alzheimer’s Association is accepting submissions for research projects in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias for its Early Investigators Scholarship award.
The scholarship encourages, recognizes and awards promising research projects in basic biomedical, patient-oriented, caregiver, social-behavioral or other dementia-related studies.
Students must be enrolled and in good standing as an undergraduate, graduate or post-doctoral student at an accredited Indiana college or university. Candidates are allowed to self-nominate or be nominated by a faculty member. Submissions must include the full name and contact information of the candidate, academic institution, a 200-word summary of their research project and a letter of support from a mentor or academic advisor.
Candidates will be evaluated by the Medical and Scientific Advisory Council of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter. The council consists of physicians, scientists, researchers and clinicians that are experts in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Entries will be evaluated based on relevance for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, innovation and impact on the understanding of or the ability to treat or manage Alzheimer's disease.
Up to four recipients will receive a $2,500 cash award, public recognition at the 2017 Alzheimer's Association Education Conference reception on June 1, 2017 and a complimentary membership into the International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment (ISTAART).
