Three Injured In I-65 Crash Near Seymour

(SEYMOUR) - A two-vehicle crash on I-69 resulted in three people taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The accident was reported at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Indiana State Trooper Tia Deanton, a 2017 Honda Accord being driven by 23-year-old Ye Sun of Urbana, Illinois was merging onto northbound I-65 from State Road 11 when he pulled into the path of a 2000 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by 37-year-old Said Adam of Cincinnati, Ohio. Sun's vehicle collided with the trailer Adam was pulling causing Sun's vehicle to overturn before coming to rest in the northbound lanes of I-65.

Sun along with his two passengers were injured in the collision. Sun was extricated from the vehicle before being flown to St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of serious injuries. His two passengers were transported to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, for treatment of their injuries. Adam was not injured in the collision.

I-65 northbound was closed for approximately two hours for crash investigation and cleanup.

Trp. Deaton was assisted by Trp. Michael Thiron, Jackson County Deputies Jeff Walters, Adam Nicholson, and Mitch Ray, Jackson County EMS, Seymour Fire Department, and Stat Flight Medical Ambulance.
