According to Troopers, the driver 31-year-old Donnell Howard Jr. of Highland was arrested after he fled in a 2010 Dodge Durango from East Chicago Police and entered the City of Hammond where Hammond Police joined the pursuit.

The Durange was traveling east on Gostlin Street when it entered into the intersection of Gostlin and Columbia Avenue and hit the driver's side of a Chevrolet Equinox. The Equinox was traveling northbound on Columbia Avenue and had a green light.
