Evansville Man Arrested After Troopers Find Nearly 60 Grams Of Marijuana

(VANDERBURGH) - Friday night just after 7 p.m., Indiana State Police Trooper Brent Gramig stopped the driver of a 1998 Chevrolet Impala on U.S. 41 near Washington Avenue for driving with expired registration.

When Trooper Gramig approached the vehicle he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana.

The driver, 28-year-old Sherrod Watt of Evansville, was arrested after Trooper Michael Finney and his K-9 Boomer arrived and found two large bags of marijuana under the driver's seat. The bags contained approximately 58 grams of marijuana.

Watts was arrested on a felony charge of possession of marijuana and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail were he is currently being held without bond.
