(INDIANAPOLIS) - U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly met with the Indiana Farm Bureau's Farm Bill Task Force. The meeting kicked off Donnelly's Farm Bill listening tour, an ongoing effort in to get input from Hoosier farmers and producers about their priorities for the upcoming Farm Bill.

Donnelly said, "The priorities, suggestions, and concerns from Indiana's farmers and producers are critical as we shape the upcoming Farm Bill and that is why I am holding listening sessions with our agricultural community. Our farmers are a cornerstone of our state's prosperity and economy. I appreciated the opportunity to meet with the Indiana Farm Bureau and look forward to hearing more from Hoosier farmers in the coming months to ensure their voices and priorities are heard."

Randy Kron, Indiana Farm Bureau President, said, "We appreciate Senator Donnelly's efforts to listen to the needs of farmers and, more important, to advocate for Hoosier farmers whenever possible."

Through his work on the Senate Agriculture Committee, Donnelly has worked tirelessly to advocate for Hoosier farmers and rural communities. As part of the previous farm bill, Donnelly successfully pushed several measures that were signed into law in 2014 as part of the bipartisan Farm Bill.
