(UNDATED) - Lilly USA is laying off about 485 people nationwide, including nearly 100 in Indiana in the wake of the failure of a drug that aimed to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
Officials say all of those affected worked in the unit that had been developing a medication designed to slow the development of Alzheimer's.
It was announced in December that trials showed the drug didn't achieve that goal.
The layoffs will take effect March 31st.
