(AUBURN) - Investigators from the Indiana State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in trying to solve a burglary which occurred on New Year’s night at a local bowling alley.

According to State Police Detective David Poe, at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 1 an unidentified male forced his way into the Auburn Bowl, located at 1815 Sprott Street.

Once inside the business, the suspect made off with a large amount of money, both cash and coins. It is believed a brown and orange colored "Hammer" brand bowling bag was also stolen and used by the suspect to put the money into before leaving.

Investigators are asking anyone with any information to call the Indiana State Police in Fort Wayne at either (800) 552-0976 or (260) 432-8661, or the Auburn Police Department at (260) 925-1500.
