Governor-Elect Eric Holcomb Appoints IDEM Commissioner, Reappoints State Fire Marshall

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor-elect Eric Holcomb announced the appointment of Bruno Pigott to serve as Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and Jim Greeson will continue to serve as the State Fire Marshall, effective January 9, 2017.

Bruno Pigott, Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM):

"I am pleased to have Bruno's knowledge and expertise on the team and I know he will serve Hoosiers well in this position," said Governor-elect Eric Holcomb. "I look forward to working with him to ensure a healthy Hoosier environment."

Bruno Pigott currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Assistant Commissioner in the Office of Water Quality, where he has worked since 2005. Prior to that, Pigott served as chief of the permits branch and as chief of the compliance branch in the Office of Water Quality. Pigott received his Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and his Master's degree from IUPUI.

Jim Greeson, Director of Fire and Building Safety - State Fire Marshal:

Jim has served as the State Fire Marshal since his appointment by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2008. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and joined the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) in 1970. He served in various positions including the Suppression Division, Deputy Chief of Administration, Deputy and Chief of Operations until he was appointed Chief of IFD in 2004. He has won numerous awards and competitions including the Bronze Medal for Track and Field 2001 World Police and Fire Games, Administrative Fire Fighter of the Year, Unit Commendation for Leadership and Rescue, Induction into the Red Cross Hall of Fame, Fire Fighter of the Year Nomination, and Certificate of Appreciation for Rescues. Jim received a degree from Indiana Vocational Technical College and also attended Indiana University Purdue University, Indianapolis and the National Fire Academy.
