This award not only gives her local recognition, but will make her eligible to compete against 9 other officers from across the state for the Pitzer Award. This award was named after Indiana Conservation Officer James D. Pitzer who was shot and killed in the line of duty while checking rabbit hunters on January 1, 1961.
