(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Tuesday, the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA) announced its incoming 2017 leadership team, which includes Nevada Lt. Governor Mark Hutchison as Chairman, North Carolina Lt. Governor Dan Forest as Vice-Chairman, Florida Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera as Co-Chair for Policy and Indiana Lt. Governor-Elect Suzanne Crouch as Co-Chair for Finance.

The leaders were selected by a vote of their fellow Republican lieutenant governors. Hutchison previously served as the 2016 Vice-Chairman under Chairman Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch of Wisconsin.

2016 RLGA Chairman Rebecca Kleefisch (WI) issued the following statement:
"This has been an amazing year for the Republican Party, and it has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as both Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the RLGA during such an exciting time in Republican politics. Over the past 12 months, the RLGA has maintained its reputation as the RSLC's fastest growing caucus by breaking previous fundraising records, leading the RSLC's first international delegation to Israel, and electing new Republican lieutenant governors in Indiana, Missouri and North Dakota. Lt. Governor Hutchison has been a fantastic partner in our efforts to grow this organization, and I am confident that he will continue to lead the RLGA to new heights as Chairman in 2017."

2017 RLGA Chairman Mark Hutchison (NV) issued the following statement:
"Since its founding, the RLGA has done an incredible job of helping the Republican Party expand its dominance in the states. I know this firsthand after the investment they made into my race helping me get elected in 2014. I am honored to be elected Chairman of such an innovative organization, and I look forward to working alongside Lt. Governors Forest, Lopez-Cantera and Crouch as we continue to grow our caucus, win elections and advance conservatism in the states. Today, Republicans hold a comfortable majority of lieutenant governor offices nationwide, with 31 out of 45 seats under GOP control, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to build on past successes in 2017."

2017 RLGA Vice-Chairman Dan Forest (NC) issued the following statement:
"The RLGA has seen tremendous growth under the leadership of Lt. Governor Kleefisch and Lt. Governor Hutchison, and I am honored to follow their lead as Vice-Chairman for 2017. The RLGA played an important role in my own re-election campaign this year with their largest investment in a race to date, and I look forward to building on all of our victories in 2016 as we strive to elect more Republican lieutenant governors next year from coast to coast."

2017 RLGA Co-Chair for Policy Carlos Lopez-Cantera (FL) issued the following statement:

"Today, with a united government in Washington, D.C. and Republicans at all-time highs in the states, we are faced with an incredible opportunity to advance conservative values from coast to coast at every level of government. As the second-in-command in the states, lieutenant governors will play a critical role in determining and defining policy discussions nationwide, and I am humbled to have been chosen by my peers to serve as the RLGA's Co-Chair for Policy in such a critical and exciting year."

2017 RLGA Co-Chair for Finance Suzanne Crouch (IN) issued the following statement:

"By harnessing national resources to grow the Republican Party in the states, the RLGA has been incredibly effective in expanding the Republican ranks of lieutenant governors in states red, purple and blue. I am honored to have been selected to serve as the RLGA's Co-Chair for Finance, and I look forward to working with the rest of the 2017 leadership team to fulfill the mission of the RLGA."

About the RLGA

The Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA) is the only national organization committed to raising money and assisting Republicans in their campaigns for lieutenant governor. Across the nation, Republican lieutenant governors serve as a state's second-in-command and perform critical tasks that can include overseeing small business recruitment, heading economic development, administering fair elections, maintaining homeland security and leading disaster recovery. Republicans currently hold 31 of the 45 lieutenant governor offices nationwide, including 14 of the 19 independently elected positions and 17 of the 25 team-elected/appointed seats.

About the RSLC

The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the largest caucus of Republican state leaders in the country and the only national organization whose mission is to elect Republicans to multiple down-ballot, state-level offices. Since 2002, the RSLC has been working to elect candidates to the offices of lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state legislator, the judiciary and other down-ticket races. The RSLC has more than 150,000 donors in all 50 states. During the 2013-2014 election cycle, the RSLC was active in all 50 states and picked up ten new state legislative chambers, leading to an all-time historic high of 69 chambers controlled by Republicans. In 2016, state-level Republicans maintained a record 69 of 99 legislative chamber majorities in red, purple and blue states, held 31 lieutenant governor seats, and grew to 31 secretaries of state. Over the last three election cycles, the RSLC expanded its Future Majority Project and Right Women, Right Now initiatives, spending more than $18 million to elect nearly 100 new Republicans of diverse descent, as well as 373 new women candidates. Last cycle, the RSLC also launched the Judicial Fairness Initiative and the new top-level domain for the Republican Party, '.gop.'
