Last updated on Friday, December 16, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis International Airport is No. 1, according to a new study from JD Power. They hit the top spot compared to all other medium-sized market airports across the country.

The study ranked the airports based on six factors: terminal facilities, accessibility, security check, baggage claim, check-in/baggage check, food, beverage and retail.

WTHI reports, airport satisfaction is higher than ever for all airports, even with the increased number of travelers. The study says airports are successfully applying technology to improve check-in, security screening and the food, beverage and retail shopping. Some airports are even focusing on improving infrastructure with an eye on expanding for the future.

Indianapolis ranked first when it came to satisfaction. Second on the list was Buffalo-Niagra International Airport.

The report asked nearly 39,000 travelers about their experience going through at least one domestic or international airport during the past three months.
