Indiana Conservation Officers Investigating Serious Injury Snowmobile Accident In Steuben County

(STEUBEN CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a serious injury snowmobile accident in Steuben County that occurred on Friday at approximately 5 p.m.

21-year-old Reese Oberlin was operating a snowmobile in a field south of Pine Canyon Lake in Steuben County near County Roads 250 North and 500 West.

When Oberlin crested over a hill, a juvenile female operating another snowmobile with a juvenile female passenger, crested the same hill from the opposite direction causing them to collide nearly head on.

The two snowmobiles were not riding together and were unaware of each others presence in the field.

All victims were transported to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

The extent of all injuries is not known at this time, as the investigation continues.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by Steuben County Police, Angola Fire, Steuben County EMS, Parkview Samaritan, and Bill's Professional Towing.
