(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor-elect Eric Holcomb announced the following reappointments today: Steve Braun as Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development, Rick Ruble as Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Labor, and James Betley as Executive Director of the Indiana Charter School Board.

All three appointments will go into effect on January 9, 2017.

Steve Braun, Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development:

"As a former entrepreneur and elected official, Steve has led workforce development in Indiana boldly and effectively," said Governor-elect Eric Holcomb. "I know he will continue to pave the way to prepare the Hoosier talent of the future."

Steve Braun was appointed in 2014 to serve as Indiana's Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development, which is tasked with building a highly skilled and educated Hoosier workforce that can compete in the global economy. Prior to leading DWD, Commissioner Braun served in the Indiana House of Representatives, while continuing to remain active as an entrepreneur in tech companies, real estate and agriculture. After receiving a business degree, he immediately went to work for Price Waterhouse. Shortly after, he started his own technology consulting business. Steve was born and raised in Southern Indiana and graduated from Harvard University.

Rick Ruble, Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Labor:

"Rick has brought a spirit of innovation and collaboration to the Department of Labor," said Governor-elect Eric Holcomb. "I very much look forward to working with him to further advance the safety, health, and prosperity of Hoosiers in the workplace."

Rick Ruble was appointed Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Labor in 2013. He had worked for Department of Labor once before in the agency's Research and Statistics division for 10 years before attending law school. After law school, he was in private practice before returning to the Department of Labor in February 2007. Rick is a graduate of Indiana University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

James Betley, Executive Director of the Indiana Charter School Board:

James Betley has served as Executive Director of the Indiana Charter School Board since his appointment in 2015 by Governor Mike Pence. James came to the Charter School Board after having spent the previous two years in various state level education roles including Deputy Director of Education Policy for Governor Mike Pence and General Counsel and Director of Policy at the Indiana State Board of Education. James is a graduate of Northwestern University and University of Michigan School of Law.
