Father Fatally Shot By Son In Garrett Homicide

(GARRETT) - Indiana State Police in cooperation with the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in Tuesday’s homicide in Garrett as 45-year-old Keith Allen Secrest.

Secrest was fatally shot by his 20-year-old son, Branston Stone Secrest, who is currently incarcerated in the DeKalb County Jail without bond on a preliminary charge of murder. He is expected to be formally charged by the DeKalb County Prosecutor's Office today.

According to DeKalb County Deputy Coroner Rodney Snyder, Secrest's death has officially been ruled a homicide as a result of gunshot.
