(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Division of Historic Preservation & Archeology's Historic Preservation is holding its annual Historic Preservation Month photo contest again in 2017 and they need the public to participate.

There are still some nice fall days left so get out and find something old to take a picture of, but you have until April 7, 2017 to send it in.

In this photo contest officials are looking for pictures of buildings or other designed features (landscapes, bridges, cemeteries, etc).

Historic Preservation Month in 2017 is going to feature round/polygonal barns.

Other basic requirements:

  • Subject of photo must be at least 50 years old (our threshold for "historic") and in Indiana
  • Photos should be 8x10 prints and framed or matted on or with a white 11x14 matte board
  • Photographers must fill out an entry form for each photo and attach to photo (limit of 3 photos per photographer).

The deadline for the contest is April 7, 2017. Submissions must be in the office at the end of the business day. This is not a date-stamped deadline.

To learn more, see previous winners, and access the entry form at
