(VINCENNES) - A suspicious package disrupts shopping at the Kimmel Crossing in Vincennes Monday.

Vincennes and State Police, along with the state bomb unit were called to the Vincennes Walmart just before 11:30 a.m. after the suspicious package was found outside of the building.

Patrons of the store say they were informed to vacate the store. Only one exit was left open for traffic to leave the parking lot.

Eyewitnesses say the suspicious package was some sort of piping apparatus.

We spoke with ISP Master Trooper Jim Dotson, who explained the steps that were taken to make sure the situation was secure.

Wal-Mart and the surrounding area was re-opened without incident around 2 p.m.

The investigation into the incident continues.
