ISP Detectives Asking For Public's Help Solving 2015 Homicide Case

Last updated on Friday, November 11, 2016

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana State Police detectives are seeking information related to the murder of 30-year-old Derrick Gregory of Indianapolis. Gregory died on Thanksgiving Day, 2015.

Detectives have been investigating this case for nearly 12 months, and are once again asking for anybody with information to come forward.

Gregory was shot inside his vehicle on I-70 near I-465 at approximately 6:30 p.m. November 25, 2015, on the east side of Indianapolis.

His older sister Rebecca Thompson said at the time of the shooting that her brother was driving home when someone fired several gunshots at his pickup truck. One of those bullets hit him in the lung causing him to lose control and total his pickup on the side of I-70 during busy rush hour.

"I don't know what the cause of this was. Whether it was violence, drugs, money, or revenge," Thompson after the incident. "Whether this was a targeted incident or road rage from a random driver, I want his killer behind bars. You have to have consequences for your actions. You cannot just go around killing people."

If you have information that could assist detectives in closing this case and bringing justice to the Gregory family please call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
