Indiana State Police Capture Three Thieves

(JEFFERSONVILLE) - An Indiana State Trooper captured three alleged thieves walking along Interstate 265 early Wednesday morning.

The trooper was patrolling the area after report of thefts from construction vehicles in the area.

While patrolling in the area, troopers encountered two males walking on the shoulder of the interstate. While speaking to the two individuals, troopers noticed a third male trying to scale a nearby fence in an obvious attempt to get away from the troopers.

The male was stopped and all three of the subjects were detained for further investigation.

During the investigation troopers located several articles of alleged stolen property taken just minutes before the troopers stopped the three individuals.

The thefts were from a neighborhood in Jeffersonville within walking distance of where they were stopped by troopers.

The suspected stolen property was identified by victims in the neighborhood as articles left inside their vehicles.

All three of the subjects 19-year-old Jacob James, 20-year-old Robert Volpert Jr. and 18-year-old Andrew Caldwell, all of Jeffersonville were arrested on the charges of theft, criminal conversion, and false informing and were incarcerated at the Clark County Jail.
