Evansville Medical School Campus On Pace For 2018 Completion

Last updated on Thursday, November 17, 2016

(EVANSVILLE) - Officials say the medical school campus being built in downtown Evansville by Indiana University and two other schools is on pace for completion in 2018.

Indiana University vice president Tom Morrison says steel beams should soon be going up on the four-story building after several months of excavation, utility and foundation work.

Morrison tells the Evansville Courier & Press that IU officials are working with the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville on how the complex will be operated once completed.

The campus projected to cost about $88 million will have 500 to 600 students among the three schools.

City development director Kelley Coures says the project is expected to be a catalyst for future health care-related development.
