Duke Energy's Marketing Partnership Program Provides Grants To 12 Indiana Economic Development Groups

(PLAINFIELD) - Twelve local economic development groups in Indiana have each received grants ranging from $2,500 to $7,500 to help them create effective marketing plans to attract jobs and businesses to their regions.

Duke Energy's Marketing Partnership Program provides grants totaling more than $58,000 to 12 Indiana economic development groups

"Through Duke Energy's Marketing Partnership Program, we provide funding to local and regional economic development organizations in our service territory to help attract jobs and business investment," said Erin Schneider, Duke Energy Indiana director of economic development. "We're proud to support these groups who are working hard to bring economic vitality to their communities."

Duke Energy selected the economic development groups through a competitive grant application process that demonstrated their plans for creating and achieving long-term strategic goals.

Duke Energy Indiana's operations provide about 7,100 megawatts of owned electric capacity to approximately 810,000 customers in a 23,000-square-mile service area, making it the state's largest electric supplier.

Duke Energy, one of the largest electric power holding companies in the United States, supplies and delivers electricity to approximately 7.4 million customers in the Southeast and Midwest, representing a population of approximately 24 million people. The company also distributes natural gas to more than 1.5 million customers in the Carolinas, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
