Driver Arrested After Traveling 127 MPH

(PARKE CO.) - A Terre Haute man was arrested Monday night after an Indiana State Trooper clocked him traveling more than 127 mile-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone.

The incident happened at 9:25 p.m. when Indiana State Police Trooper Chuck Murphy was patrolling U.S. 36 in eastern Parke County and clocked a vehicle traveling at 127 miles-per-hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on westbound U.S. 36 near County Road 275 East.

The 2017 Dodge Viper was stopped and the driver 42-year-old Douglas J. McGuirk was arrested and taken to the Parke County Jail on charges of reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor.
