Attorney Appeals Federal Judge's Order To Place Vigo Co. School Employee On Home Detention

Last updated on Wednesday, November 9, 2016

(VIGO CO.) - The U.S. Attorney’s Office filed an appeal Monday after a federal judge placed former Vigo County School Corporation employee Frank Shahadey on in home detention as he awaits his trial.

The FBI arrested two VCSC employees, Shahadey and Transportation Director Franklin Fennell, after being tipped off to a kickback scheme.

The two men are charged with theft or bribery and accused of stealing thousands of dollars. Fennell was released pending the trial.

Shahadey has been kept in custody because investigators say he threatened to kill a co-worker.

The appeals hearing is scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at the Federal Court House in Indianapolis.
