(ANDERSON) - Dr. Kevin Radaker, professor of English at Anderson University, will present his dramatic portrayal of Winston Churchill on Friday, November 11 (Veteran's Day), at 7:30 p.m. in the atrium of Nicholson Library at Anderson University.

The dramatic portrayal will mark Radaker's first performance of Churchill in Madison County. The public is invited to attend this free event. During the evening, Dr. Radaker will present Churchill in dialogue, followed by a question and answer session moderated by Dr. Jaye Rogers, chair of the Department of History and Political Science at AU.

During the presentation, Churchill will describe the dark days of 1940 and 1941, when England faced off against Hitler's Nazi forces virtually alone. Churchill will also recall the unconquerable will of the British people as well as the friendship that he formed with President Roosevelt during the years of the war. In the final minutes of his speech, Churchill will warn his American audience of the growing Soviet threat in Eastern Europe. Along the way, he will offer a great deal of his characteristic humor and wit, as well as his famous rhetorical eloquence.

Radaker is an experienced veteran of one-man dramatic portrayals. Over the past 25 years, he has portrayed Henry David Thoreau more than 400 times across the United States. Since 2009, he has also portrayed C.S. Lewis in venues across the United States and in China. He began offering his portrayal of Winston Churchill during the four-week summer tour of the 2016 Oklahoma Chautauqua.
