Police Investigating Death Of Indiana State University Freshman At Fraternity Event

(MARSHALL, IL.) - Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old freshman at Indiana State University.

Yiorgo Karnezis died after attending a fraternity social event near Marshall, Illinois.

Sheriff's deputies received a report of a person falling out of a small boat into a pond early Sunday morning.

WTHI-TV reports Karnezis was taken to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute where he was pronounced dead.

ISU officials say that it was a Sigma Chi Fraternity social event where the incident took place.

The school has suspended all operations of the fraternity under school protocol while they investigate.
