Owl Banding Returns At Indiana Dunes State Park

Last updated on Thursday, October 27, 2016

(CHESTERTON) - Burn the midnight oil at Indiana Dunes State Park for our eighth season of saw-whet owl banding.

Visitors can learn about Indiana's smallest owl in this up close and personal experience. Though special nights are scheduled, banding occurs nearly nightly if conditions are right now through Nov. 20. Join the dunes rare bird and owl banding text and email alert program for nightly status updates at https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/INDNR/subscriber/new?topic_id=INDNR_90

Visitors wanting a special glimpse into the banding program can also register for special behind the scenes tours on select nights in November. Behind the Scenes nights include all supplies, a chance to visit the nets, and see the operations up close.

For more information or to register for these nights visit the Behind the Scenes Registration Page at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/owl-banding-behind-the-scenes-tickets-27611523811
