Lawrence Police Searching For Three Men Who Entered Church, Robbed Congregation At Gunpoint

(LAWRENCE) - Lawrence police are searching for three men who robbed a church congregation at gunpoint.

Police responded to a report of a holdup at Centro Cristiano Church on North Franklin Road around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officers came into contact with the congregation who said they were in the church when they were robbed by three men at gunpoint.

According to the victims, one of the suspects stayed at the door and pointed a gun at the congregation. He is a black male between 5'7" and 5'10" tall, skinny, weighing around 130 to 140 pounds. He is in his mid-twenties, wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and white/black tennis shoes. He was armed with a black handgun.

The second and third suspects also pointed guns at the congregation, forcing them to the ground and making them remove items from his pockets. They are black males between 5'7" and 5'10" tall and also in their mid-twenties. They were wearing a black hoodie, gray/black pants, white/black tennis shoes and armed with a handgun.

The third suspect also threatened to shoot the victims.

The men took personal items from the victims' pockets and small amounts of cash belonging to the victims.

The suspects may have fled north and west around the building after the robbery.
