ATV Accident At Interlake SRA

(PIKE COUNTY) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Pike County.

On Saturday at approximately 4:15 pm, Indiana Conservation Officers responded to an ATV accident at Interlake SRA. Rebekah Collazo (10) of Evansville was operating a Kawasaki 90cc ATV while being supervised by her father Jamie Collazo.

Rebekah was operating up a steep embankment when the ATV failed to make it to the top of the hill and rolled back down the hill. The ATV overturned landing on top of Rebekah and pinned her next to a large boulder.

Rebekah was Life Flighted to Deaconess Hospital where she was treated for a dislocated hip. Rebekah was wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident, which included a helmet, chest protector, neck collar, riding boots, and goggles.

Responding agencies included Indiana Conservation Officers, Lynnville Fire Department, Warrick County EMS, and DNR Interlake SRA staff members.
