Serious Crash Leaves Two Dead, One Injured, In Scott County

(AUSTIN) - At approximately 7 a.m. this morning, deputies from the Scott County Sheriff's Department responded to a serious crash on Jack Morgan Road approximately a half of a mile north of State Road 56 near Austin.

When deputies arrived they discovered a 2005 Cadillac off of the west side of the road in a field.

When they approached the vehicle, they located two deceased males, the driver, 18-year-old Jacob Justice of Scottsburg, was thrown from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The second deceased male, was front seat passenger, 16-year-old Cameron Prestegui, of Austin. He was found dead inside the vehicle and was wearing his seat belt.

A third occupant of the vehicle, back seat passenger, 17-year-old Jonathon Brown, of Austin, was injured and was transported to the Scott County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.

According to police, Justice was driving the 2005 Cadillac south on Jack Morgan Road, when for an unknown reason it left the roadway on the west side of the road, flipping and then hitting several wooden fence poles.

A crash reconstruction team from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg was called to the scene.

This investigation is continuing.

Assisting agencies; Scott County Sheriff's Department, Jennings Township Fire Department, Scott County E.M.S. and the Scott County Coroner's Office.
