Those interested should complete and submit the "Stay in Touch" form on website to be notified of additional recruiting events and additional phases of the hiring process. To be considered for employment, the Pre-Screening Test found on the Becoming an Indiana Conservation Officer website must be completed prior to November 29th, 2016. If you plan on attending an event, please notify Indiana Conservation Officer Tyler Brock by email at tbrock@dnr.in.gov

To be qualified to pass the pre-screening test a person must be a U.S. citizen, be 21 by October 20th, 2017, have an Associate's Degree from an accredited College or University or 60 credit hours toward a Bachelor's Degree or, 4 years active concurrent military service with an honorable discharge by May 22nd, 2017. Indiana Conservation Officers are fully empowered police officers employed by the Law Enforcement Division of the Department of Natural Resources and enforce all state laws. Primary duties include enforcement of fish and wildlife laws, natural, historical and cultural resource laws, boating laws and outdoor recreation laws. We are also the primary law enforcement presence at Indiana state parks, fish and wildlife areas, and state nature preserves.

District Ten Conservation Officers will be conducting recruiting events to provide further information about job duties and responsibilities, requirements and preparation for physical fitness testing, requirements and preparation for written testing and oral interview, preparation for core values training (recruit school), and an overall look at the proposed 2017 hiring process.

An event focusing on interview techniques and the physical fitness requirements will be held at Indiana Dunes State Park. Business casual clothing is appropriate for this event. However, those participating in the physical fitness portion of the event are encouraged to bring clothing appropriate for exercise.

You will have an opportunity to experience the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy physical fitness entry standards to prepare for the official testing that will be held on a later date. These events are being held to benefit and prepare those interested in the career of a lifetime, but are entirely voluntary.

The District Ten Recruiting Event Schedule is as follows:
