Indianapolis Police Officer Charged With Attempted Murder Of Another Officer

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis police officer surrendered to Cincinnati Police Saturday following an hour long standoff on I-75.

A warrant was issued in Marion County, Indiana Saturday for the arrest of 42-year-old Adrian Aurs for attempted murder.

Aurs allegedly shot a detective Friday, who was investigating domestic violence incident involving Aurs and his estranged wife.

The detective, who returned fire did not strike Aurs, was hospitalized in good condition with elbow and back injuries.

Aurs was off-duty when he allegedly shot the detective and fled to Ohio in his personal vehicle.

Aurs has been suspended without pay, pending termination from the department.
