(VERNON) - Five people were arrested after both heroin and meth were discovered Tuesday in the Country Squire Lakes subdivision near North Vernon.
Three of the suspects are charged with dealing in a controlled substance as a Level 5 felony, according to a press release from North Vernon Police Department spokesman Sgt. Andrew Richmond.

Additional charges of possession of a syringe as a Level 6 felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia, also have been filed against all five suspects, Richmond said.
The discovery of the narcotics began after North Vernon Police detective Nick Megel gathered sufficient evidence to obtain a search warrant for Anderson's residence in the 2000 block of Country Manor Boulevard, the release stated.
Members of the North Vernon Police Department Emergency Response Team, as well as deputies with the Jennings County Sheriff's Department, arrived at the home shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Richmond said.
The search turned up about 2 grams of packaged heroin, a gram of methamphetamine, multiple syringes, digital scales and packaging materials.
As of late Tuesday afternoon, all five suspects were still being held in the Jennings County Jail in lieu of $1,055 cash bond, a jail spokeswoman said.
Both city and county officers were assisted by troopers from the Indiana State Police, as well as Jennings County Animal Control personnel, the release stated.
