Crash Claims Life Of Greensburg Man

(RIPLEY CO.) - A Greensburg man was killed after a two vehicle crash on U.S 421 near County Road 650 North, near Neapoleon Sunday.

According to Indiana State Police Kyle Black, a 1998 Dodge minivan being driven by 30-year-old William Minch Jr. of Greensburg, was traveling northbound on U.S. 421. For an unknown reason, Minch's vehicle crossed the centerline into the path of a southbound 2013 Kenworth tractor trailer being driven by 39-year-old John Hobbs of Connersville. Both vehicle collided nearly head-on and both came to rest in the roadway.

As a result of the crash, Minch sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ripley County Coroner. Hobbs was uninjured in the crash.

U.S. 421 was closed for over three hours for investigation and cleanup.

The Minch family has been notified.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Trp. Black was assisted by Trp. Joe Prather, Indiana State Police, Ripley County Sheriff's Department, Osgood Fire Department, Napoleon Fire Department, and Ripley County EMS.
