AT&T Raising Price Of Some Data Plans

(UNDATED) - AT&T is following Verizon's recent move in raising the prices of some of its data plans.

Like Verizon, the higher prices come with more data, reducing the cost per gigabyte for many customers.

Those not benefiting from the change can keep their existing plans and can still add lines to their account, but won't be able to change data levels without switching to the new rates.

Since most plans now come with unlimited calls and texts, wireless companies see data as a way to boost revenue.

AT&T's new rates will go into effect Sunday.

T-Mobile raised its rates last year, calling them greater values with more data.
