(COLUMBUS) - Bartholomew County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a 21-year-old Columbus woman who died after falling from a vehicle.
The Republic reports that Kathleen C. Palacios Santos died at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis following an incident that was reported at about 4:30 a.m. Monday in Bartholomew County, sheriff's deputies said.
Santos was first taken to Columbus Regional Hospital with a head injury after falling from a vehicle that was traveling southbound on State Road 58 near County Road 700S in the southwestern part of the county, deputies said.
Detectives are still investigating but have determined Santos was sitting on the windowsill of the door frame while the car was in motion and fell to the roadway, deputies said.
After being taken to the Columbus hospital, she was transported by LifeLine helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where she later died, deputies said.
