(INDIANAPOLIS) - The FBI is doing all it can to keep Hoosiers safe from terrorism, says Senator Joe Donnelly.
Donnelly held a briefing with reporters this morning after meeting with the FBI at their Indianapolis headquarters.
"There is no perfect world," Donnelly said. "but we are working nonstop in every corner, following every lead to make sure your family is safe."
Donnelly says the FBI reassured him that there have been adequate resources allocated to stopping terrorism threats in Indiana. He pointed to the recent arrest of a teenager in Brownsburg who had joined ISIS as an example of those resources at work.
"This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue." Donnelly said. "This is an American issue of how we keep the people of this country safe."
Donnelly also took time to encourage people to continue looking out for any suspicious activity.
"You have to also be aware." Donnelly warned. "And if you see something that's a little bit sideways, let us know."
