Pedestrian Struck By Train And Killed In Randolph County

(RANDOLPH CO.) - A Madison woman was struck and killed by a train in Randolph County Tuesday morning.

According to an Indiana State Police report, around 7:40 a.m., Trooper Seth Painter and ISP Sergeant Jeff Zeiger, along with the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train on County Road 900 West, south of State Road 32.

When they arrived they found that a female had been struck by a west bound train.

Police say 38-year-old Angela C. Jordan was laying on the tracks as the west bound train was approaching. The train was unable to get stopped before striking her.

Jordan, was living with a friend in Farmland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Trooper Painter was assisted at the scene by ISP Sergeant Jeff Zeiger, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department, Randolph County Coroner, Randolph County EMS, Parker City Police Department and Farmland Fire and Rescue.
